Blues Struggles Continue

The first 7 games are in the books, and the Blues are still looking for their first win.   The Blues fell to the Winnipeg Saints 4-1 last night in St. Adolphe.

After a scoreless but penalty filled first period, the Saints tallied three goals in the 2nd.  Paul Crane, Kyle Bodnaruk, Shane Gingera were the goal scorers for the Saints.

Brad Olynyk would add a powerplay goal late in the 3rd to round out the scoring for the Saints.

Dustin Bruyere would notch the Blues only marker early in the 3rd, but Saints netminder Brent Wolfe would shut the door the rest of the way, stopping 31 of 32 shots for the win.

Charlie Poque made 25 saves in a losing cause for the Blues.

The Blues now fall to 0-3-2-2 after 7 games.

These 2 teams will go head to head once again this Thursday night at the MTS Ice Plex.  Puck Drop is set for 7:30.

Elsewhere last night the Portage doubled up Neepawa 6-3.
