The Winnipeg Blues halted their three game losing skid with a 3-1 win over the Steinbach Pistons on Thursday night.
After scoring just three times in their previous three games, Winnipeg managed to light the lamp three times, all in the first period, and hold on for the win.
Dylan Kelly, Jeff Borse, and Paul Bonar were the goal scorers for the Blues, who now jump a point ahead of the Portage Terriers for first in the Addison Division with the win.
Steinbach's Brett Fargher would get the Pistons within two with a power play goal midway through the second, but that would be all the offence they could muster in the loss.
This was the Blues 6th win of the season over the Pistons, with two games remaining in the season series.
Winnipeg now gets set for a tough test tonight, as they welcome the Dauphin Kings to the Ice Plex in a battle of first place teams. Both teams are atop the standings right now with 48 points.
The Blues have won two of the three meetings between the clubs this season, including the last time they met, a 2-1 decision back on November 22 in Dauphin.
Puck drop is set for 7:30
