Morris Hat-trick Not Enough As Kings Drop Blues

It was a battle of division leaders last night at the Ice Plex, and in the end, the Dauphin Kings slipped past the Winnipeg Blues 5-4.

Only one goal was scored in the opening period as Shamas Graham would light the lamp for the Kings.

In the second, Jared Morris would take the game into his own hands, scoring a natural hat-trick in the period, twice on the power play, as the Blues would notch four in the period, and lead Dauphin 4-3 heading into the final frame.

But Dauphin would score a pair of goals 38 seconds apart in the third from Jesse Sinatynski and Neil Tarnasky and that would be the difference as Dauphin takes sole possession of first place in the MJHL with the win.

Winnipeg has Saturday night off, as they prepare to host the Neepawa Natives on Sunday night.

Winnipeg has won both games against the Natives so far this season.

Puck drop is set for 6:30
