For the 2nd time in their last three games, the Winnipeg Blues put 7 goals up on the board. And for the 2nd time in their last three games, they came away with the win.
The second period for the Blues has been less than stellar so far this season, but last night in Neepawa it was the catalyst, as Winnipeg scored 4 times en route to a 7-2 win over the Natives.
The Blues led 3-1 after the first period, thanks to 2 goals from Brett Harvie, and another from Paul Bonar.
In the second period, Adam Stoykewych put home a pair, Patrick Henderson got a single, and newcomer Justin Remillard scored his first as a Blue after being acquired last week from La Ronge rounding out the scoring in the period, and giving Winnipeg a 7-1 lead after two periods.
Neepawa would get the only marker in the third, a shorthanded goal by Daniel Adams, but that would be it as the Blues improved their record to 7-13-2-4 on the year.
Next action for the Blues is Thursday night at the MTS Ice Plex when they'll look for their first win over the leagues top team, the Selkirk Steelers. So far this season the Blues are 0-1-1-2 against their division rivals.
Puck drop is set for 7:30.
