Pistons Get By Blues In OT

With playoffs out of the picture, it was pride on the line for the Winnipeg Blues and Steinbach Pistons.

And both teams showed alot of it, with Steinbach coming out on top 4-3 in overtime in the final home game for the Blues this season.

With a total of 74 shots on net during the game, both goaltenders, Addison Herosian for the Pistons and Charlie Pogue of the Blues weren't too shabby in the pipes.

Steinbachs Russell Trudeau scored the only marker in the first, a short handed tally to give the Pistons a 1-0 lead.

In the second Paul Bonar scored his first of two on the night for the Blues midway through the period.  Steinbach answered right back just over a minute later as Dylan Dock regained the lead for the Pistons.

The Blues battled back to tie it on Jake Heisingers 12th of the year.

Justin Moody would give the Pistons a 3-2 with just nine seconds left in the period.

Bonar was the only player to light the lamp in the third period, sending the game to overtime.

And midway through the extra frame Hartwell Marable ended it, getting the puck behind Pogue for the win.

The Blues have a pair of games left before they wrap up the regular season.

They'll face the Pistons once again, this time in Steinbach, before ending the regular season in a rescheduled game on Saturday night against the Dauphin Kings.
