The Winnipeg Blues weren't about to let this one slip away.
After losing 7 of their first 15 games this season by 1 goal, the Blues found a way to keep their lead and down Swan Valley 4-2.
Evan Gravenor continued his strong play, scoring for the third straight game to open the scoring for the Blues. It's the 9th time this season that Gravenor has lit the lamp.
The Stampeders would even things up late in the opening frame on a goal by Dylan Reimer.
In the 2nd, Jake Heisinger found the back of the net for the first time this season, regaining the Blues lead.
Jeff Riddell would even things up midway through the period for the Stamps, but the 2-2 score was short lived as Paul Bonar notched his 5th of the season 59 seconds after the Stamps tied it.
Dylan Kelly would round out the scoring in the 3rd, putting home his 2nd of the year, giving the Blues the 4-2 win, and improving their record to 4-6-2-4, and currently sitting 5th in the Addison Division.
Charlie Pogue picked up his 2nd win of the season, improving to 2-4-1-2 on the year.
The Blues have a couple days off before their next action. After spending the last 7 games at the MTS Ice Plex, they'll hit the road next Wednesday and head to Steinbach to face the Pistons. It's the first of a 3 game in 3 night stretch for the Blues, who'll face the Saints in St. Adolphe on Thursday, and are back home against Neepawa on Friday night.
Puck drop is 7:30 all 3 nights.
