Tough Weekend For Blues

The Winnipeg Blues woes continued up north this past weekend, falling 6-2 to OCN on Friday night, and losing 3-2 in a shootout to Swan Valley on Saturday.

That's the Blues third straight loss, and 10th in their last 11 games overall.

The Blues record is not impressive, sitting at 10-24-3-6 overall this season so far, but they have been right there in a lot of their games.

Winnipeg has 11 one goal losses this season.  Six in shootouts, and three in overtime and a pair in regulation.  They just haven't found a way to either get that big save or that timely goal when they've needed it.

If the Blues found a way to win even half of those 11 games, they'd be right in the pack.   They haven't won them, but they seem to be a team that's right on the brink.

With 18 games left in the regular season, the Blues find themselves on the outside looking in on the playoff picture at this point, and would have to put together a pretty impressive run to get into the playoffs, but it's still not out of the question.

It has to start with a win, and they'll get their next chance this coming Tuesday night in Selkirk, as they play their 10th and last game of their 10 game road trip.

Next home action for the Blues is next Friday when they host the Steinbach Pistons.  It's the Blues first home game since December 12th.
